Overview Arctic GPRS Gateway and Arctic EDGE Gateway effectively integrates Ethernet and serial devices to management systems via wireless networks (GPRS/EDGE).The internal router, port forwarding and VPN tunneling provide secure integration to local area networks (LAN). Mobile operator independent systems can also be built with Viola M2M Gateway which provides virtual static IP addresses for Arctic devices.

Arctic Modbus Gateway

Overview

Arctic Modbus Gateway effectively integrates serial Modbus devices to IP based management systems via Ethernet, GPRS and EDGE. This is achieved by protocol conversion from Modbus serial protocols to Modbus TCP protocol and vice versa.

Combining this to many other Modbus specific features Arctic Modbus Gateway is powerful and flexible building block for industrial Modbus communication.

Also mobile operator independent systems (when GPRS/EDGE is used) can be built with Viola M2M Gateway which provides virtual static IP addresses and VPN connections for Arctic devices.

Overview

The Arctic Railway Gateway connects various remote railway devices using the GSM-R network. Critical data is transferred from remote locations in a reliable and secure way. The device is fully compliant to Eirene specifications and GSM-R specifications.

GSM-R, Global System for Mobile Communications – Railway or GSM-Railway is an international wireless communications standard for railway communication and applications.

Arctic Railway Gateway uses GSM-R networks to enable data connectivity to telemetry devices, station and train control.

Arctic Railway Gateway is a field proven for reliable and secure data communications. Serial or Ethernet devices can be linked wirelessly via GSM-R/GPRS.

  • Arctic Railway Gateway is customized for Railway application.
  • Reliability of connection and the device itself is essential. This is provided by internal and communication monitoring. In case of any malfunction communication is re established automatically.
  • Being able to work with either private or public operator APNs makes the Arctic GSM-R Gateway especially suitable for connecting remote devices and equipment to the Internet and corporate networks.
  • End-to-end data security is achieved either by utilizing private APN services provided by a mobile operator or by using Viola M2M Gateway which provides VPN connection between the Viola M2M Gateway and Arctic devices.
  • In addition to an Ethernet interface there are RS232 and RS-232/422/485 (with switch selectable biasing and termination) serial ports available for connecting single or multiple serial devices to Arctic Railway Gateway. Data from serial devices can be forwarded also to Ethernet port if needed.

Overview

Arctic 3G Gateway support HSPA in 3G networks providing data speeds up to 7.2 Mbps on the downlink and up to 5.76 Mbps on the uplink. When this is combined with the possibility for multiple field devices connectivity by serial and Ethernet ports, Arctic 3G Gateway is the ideal solution for monitoring and controlling of field devices when high data bandwidth is required.

Arctic IEC-104 Gateway

Overview

The IEC 60870 protocol family is a vendor-independent communication standard for the electricity industry. With Arctic IEC-104 Gateway conventional IEC-101 devices can be attached to a modern TCP/IP based IEC-104 control system. This is possible because of the protocol conversion from IEC-101 to IEC-104 (and vice versa) made by Arctic IEC-104 Gateway.

Ethernet, GPRS and EDGE network interfaces provide a seamless communication solution for most of the applications. Secure (Firewall, VPN) and two-way GPRS/EDGE communication (static IP addresses) is provided with Viola M2M Gateway or with mobile operator private APN service. Finally a complete solution for upgrading the communication system to take advantage of the efficient and low-cost IEC-104 approach!
